1 world trade center
I believe this new building will be a lot safer due to the fact that it has 71 elevators. There are more elevators to transport more people in case of an emergency. Also, it takes 45 seconds to get to the top. The elevators are more efficient, traveling at about 23 miles per house.
1. The Sixth Grade Nickname Game by Gordon Korman
When I first seen this book, it reminded me of the 6th grade. Immaturity and hormones were flowing through the air.The sixth grade was full of jokes and nicknames. I believe reading this book will be a lot of fun, but it will also bring some fond memories of the 6th grade.
2. Graves End by Elaine Mercado
This book caught my eye as being a scary book. I love a good scare. I have read several other books about ghosts and I believe this would be a great book to add to my collection. When I read the back of the book, I was captivated by the plot.
3. Help! I'm Trapped In Obedience School by Todd Strasser
At first glance, I knew this was going to be a great book. Something about the title just reached out and grabbed me. I have always been hard headed when it comes to obedience, but when there is a book about a kid in obedience school, you do not know what is about to go down!
4. 10th Grade by Joseph Weisberg
This book easily caught my attention. Since I was in 10th grade last year, this book easily found it's way into my hands. 10th grade was a very fun year for me. I mostly want to read this book, to see if the kids go through the same struggles and situations I went through.
5. Into The Wild by Jon Krakaver
When I seen this book, it automatically reminded me of Hatchet. Any survival book is a good book for me. I love watching the show "Man v.s. Wild" with Bear Grylls and I believe this book has a somewhat similar plot as this show. I find a great adventure book to be very invigorating.
6. The Moffats by Eleanor Estes
This book seemed very heart warming when I read the back. A book about family and struggles always adds up to a great plot. Even the cover shows a very colorful family that seems to get in all types of shenanigans. I love the book, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, and if it is similar it must be a great book.
7. Knights of The Hill Country by Tim Tharp
At a close examination of this book, I knew it was going to be a great football book. Football books always have a good story behind a team conflict and in the end, the problem is always resolved in time for the big game. If it is even close to as good as Remember The Titans, it will be a great book.
8. Freak The Mighty by Rodman Philbrick
I am not really sure what this book is about, but it seemed to be very interesting. It looks like a very large person is holding up a smaller person and the kid has his arms out like a champion. I really like success stories and how people overcome things.
9. The Time Machine by H.G. Wells
Anything that deals with time travel interests me greatly. I always found time travel and how the components of a time machine work to be gratifying. I enjoy a good science fiction novel and I believe this would be a good book to challenge me to think outside the box.
10. Ferret in the Bedroom, Lizards in the Fridge by Bill Wallace
When I first seen the cover of this book I busted out laughing. The title is very funny, but the picture on the front with the raccoon right in your face just made my day. I want to read this book because it seems like someone is up to some pranks and they bring animals in the house. It has to be a funny book.

Slender Man
Slender Man
Slender Man is a mythical creature that has become a legend in a matter of years. Slender Man can be described as an 8 to 10 foot man, who wears a suit, and has a featureless white face. Slender Man can be compared to other people from different texts; such as, The Tall Man, who abducts children. The thought of Slender Man can really challenge your mind and make you see things that can trouble your conscious. People around the world who have seen his videos and documentaries on YouTube, know about his legend and how he can scare you from within.
In Kristin Tillotson’s article, Tall, skinny, scary – and all in your head, she goes into detail about the haunting figure. She explains the background of Slender Man and how he has psychiatric influences to make you feel horrified when you think about him. Kristin goes into a lot of detail and how he “...silently radiates malevolence and doom.” Slender Man can strike fear into the hearts of people who are not scared of much else.
I believe Kristin Tillotson explains her article of Slender Man very well. She has a lot of solid and valid information. I have put a lot of research into Slender Man as well and her information is quite compatible to mine. I do agree that Slender Man is tall, skinny, and he abducts children. I also agree that Slender Man does have influences on your brain and that he is a very iconic mythical creature that may be real.
Many people have evidence of Slender Man; whether it be by picture or video. His origin dates back to ancient Egypt on wall paintings, but as well as the Middle Ages from a woodcut. The pictures that are depicted look extremely similar to Slender Man. I do not understand why Kristin Tillotson did not go into detail about his origin in her article. I believe it would have made the readers even more skeptical and horrified about him. www.startribune.com/lifestyle/120717934.html?refer=y
