Slender Man
Slender Man is a mythical creature that has become a legend in a matter of years. Slender Man can be described as an 8 to 10 foot man, who wears a suit, and has a featureless white face. Slender Man can be compared to other people from different texts; such as, The Tall Man, who abducts children. The thought of Slender Man can really challenge your mind and make you see things that can trouble your conscious. People around the world who have seen his videos and documentaries on YouTube, know about his legend and how he can scare you from within.
In Kristin Tillotson’s article, Tall, skinny, scary – and all in your head, she goes into detail about the haunting figure. She explains the background of Slender Man and how he has psychiatric influences to make you feel horrified when you think about him. Kristin goes into a lot of detail and how he “...silently radiates malevolence and doom.” Slender Man can strike fear into the hearts of people who are not scared of much else.
I believe Kristin Tillotson explains her article of Slender Man very well. She has a lot of solid and valid information. I have put a lot of research into Slender Man as well and her information is quite compatible to mine. I do agree that Slender Man is tall, skinny, and he abducts children. I also agree that Slender Man does have influences on your brain and that he is a very iconic mythical creature that may be real.
Many people have evidence of Slender Man; whether it be by picture or video. His origin dates back to ancient Egypt on wall paintings, but as well as the Middle Ages from a woodcut. The pictures that are depicted look extremely similar to Slender Man. I do not understand why Kristin Tillotson did not go into detail about his origin in her article. I believe it would have made the readers even more skeptical and horrified about him. www.startribune.com/lifestyle/120717934.html?refer=y
